Asia
Now everyone put your hands together for Asia, the announcer shouts.
The crowd goes wild.
Asia walks from stage right wing to the center of the stage and grabs the wireless microphone from the announcer.
Thank you.
You’re welcome Asia.
The announcer quickly begins to walk off stage.
DJ begins to spin a track as the lights in the house fade to black and the spot light picks up Asia at center stage. Asia looks into the crowd and begins to flow.
I’m on this microphone: speakers full blown she states as she glances at the DJ as if asking him.
DJ nods as he turns up the volume.
Now listen: I remember a time when I was force to act grown.
Had no one to talk to, no to hear me out. No one to ask me, what’s this chaos all about?
At the time if I would’ve had a gun I would’ve put one in me, it’s crazy but it’s true.
Some of you will never know what not having a family can do to you.
To those who do: stay strong and positive, and never negative.
Negativity can kill, makes you chase demons and that’s real.
Don’t have to be born into a family you can make one to.
Just surround yourself with people that are loving and true.
Appreciate them while they’re around; treat them as if they wear a crown.
Aid in the battle between good and evil that surrounds and strikes within.
Be strong willing and able to defend.
Sometimes we only get one chance to save those we love and prove ourselves to our redeemer from up above.
Asia takes one more look at the crowd and smiles as the crowd shouts her name.
I love you all my brothers and sisters.
The lights begin to fade out as she begins to make her way off the stage.
